Ten Tips for Being More Truthful

Ten Tips for Being More Truthful

Tip 1
Make a commitment to tell the truth.

Tip 2
Tell someone about your commitment.

Being committed in silence will not help help keep the commitment strong, if one wants to stay committed to what he or she wants, then they must be able to spread the word of their commitment to as much possible people so he or she can be reminded of their commitment. Also, staying true to something will help one become more trust worthy, for example, if I am insecure, no one will trust me an important task or project. But if they seem me overwhelmed with confidence, then I'll be trusted with about anything, including important projects that might decide the fate of something. Therefore, I believe that it is vital to trust one's self and be committed to tell the truth, and spreading the word to be reminded.

Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.
-Buddha

Tip 3
Think before you give a dishonest answer, explanation, sarcasm, or reason.

Having dishonesty in your life is wrong, there is justification for having certain dishonesty, but that is still wrong. Being dishonest can create problems within everything, a business, a classroom homework, family , etc. Some reasons to being dishonest may include the excuse of protecting certain love ones (although there extreme cases where a person has to hide certain stuff to keep their loved ones safe). Most of the time, the persons themselves shadow their eyes with the lie that dishonesty is the only way to protect himself or his family.
Continuing with dishonesty, sarcasm. Is it truly bad? I believe otherwise; being a little sarcastic has never hurt someone.

Tip 4
Be careful of when and how you use exaggeration, sarcasm or irony.

The use of exaggeration, sarcasm or irony is not bad when used at the right moment. Using these in occasions such as funerals, interviews, other official settings, or simply when the mood is just not appropriate, this can make you seem as an individual who has no morality or respect for the person in question. But this does not mean that they are bad to use, there are occasions when someone might want to use them. And this is fine if it is later explained. But one must not leave a person without an explanation because that leave the mid open to interpretation which is bad if the exaggeration, sarcasm, or irony has a negative tone because then the interpretation would be negative itself.

Tip 5
Be careful not to twist the truth or leave out part of it.

Is a truth complete if it has been manipulated with or cut of? In my case, I believe that there  is no truth if anything has been done to it that compromised it.
Everything in life can be a lie, our lives, our knowledge, our mere existence. But we grasp on to it without a second doubt. No body in this world stops to think if they really exist, how can they prove this withoutht e use of there senses.

And how exactly is that related to not twisting the truth, or telling an incomplete truth? If there is something certain in life, it that not one single person will live their entire telling the truth. Therefor, I wanted to tell everyone out there to try their best and tell the least lies in their entire live.

Tip 6
Don't indulge in little white lies

Lying does wrong to who ever it is being done to. Even if it is as innocent as a white lie; if it has to be done for the greater good of everyone, then it must be done, but if it used to save yourself from any kind of punishment, then that is doing some wrong. People are hurt in the long run, it is better to be honest to not hurt their feelings. White lies can become full lies and feeling can be hurt, think before you act, do not act before you think.

Tip 7
Watch out for silent lies

Silent lies are caused when one does not agree to something but still goes with it. And although it may sound funny, this happens often, at work, at home, anywhere. We decide to not express our opinion just to go the easy way and stay in everyone's cool side. But this is wrong, first because there is non of your voice in the decision and because there pride must not get in the way of someone. If s lie is not told, is it still a lie?

Tip 8
when you catch yourself lying, throw your moth into reverse

Tip 9
Talk to yourself

Talking to oneself can really help, it may be taken as a sign of madness, but that should not affects the confidence that one has to himself by talking to yourself. Whether it is inside the mind, or out loud; talking helps, and there is a number of ways that it can help, some of those ways are by appreciating yourself.

Tip 10
Treat yourself when you tell the truth.

One must know when to treat themselves, this is important because you are being self conditioned to only tell the truth, therefore instinct will kick in and there will be little to no possibility of lying.
Giving yourself a treat for each good thing that is accomplished will only nourish and sustain the this tip. But like all tips, this should not be taken
